Artificial intelligence (AI) is at the forefront of innovation in today’s rapidly evolving tech landscape, driving significant changes across various industries. Whether you’re a seasoned professional looking to pivot into AI or a newcomer eager to dive into this exciting field, obtaining the proper certifications can be a game-changer.

This blog post will explore the 13 best AI certifications to help you secure remote AI jobs. These AI certifications validate your skills and make you stand out in a competitive job market. From foundational courses to advanced specializations, we’ve got you covered. Let’s embark on this journey to enhance your AI expertise and open doors to new career opportunities!

1- Prompt Engineering for ChatGPT

Number one AI certification on the list, which will be prompt engineering for ChatGPT. Which is a course hosted on Coursera. Vanderbilt University created this one, and over 200,000 people have already taken the course. At the end of a course, you get a shareable certificate that can be put on your resume or portfolio.

The course takes approximately 18 hours to finish, and you can learn at your own pace. It has a flexible schedule, and it will teach you advanced concepts in prompt engineering with chat GPT. Prompt engineering is significant because Gigo stands for garbage in and out.

Unfortunately, putting a garbage prompt into an AI will give you a garbage output. However, placing an excellent prompt into AI will provide outstanding production. So, prompt engineering is significant. Suppose you want to use AI properly. Now, there are a bunch of different types of jobs that you could get into.

Some will be AI Engineers who make about $125,000 to $193,000 a year. AI Product managers make about $155,000 to $241,000 a year, and AI prompt managers also make a ton of money. This course has many positive reviews online, including on Reddit.

2- Introduction to Generative AI

Now, the next AI certification will be an introduction to generative AI, and this will be a Google Cloud skill boost course. This doesn’t sound very easy, but it’s a beginner’s course that will take you anywhere from hours to days to complete. It will help you better understand the foundations of generative AI.

There are five modules in the course:

  1. Introduction to Generative AI
  2. Introduction to Large Language Models
  3. Introduction to Responsible AI
  4. Generative AI Fundamentals
  5. Applying AI Principles with Google Cloud

Although this one won’t get you a job on its own, it will look perfect if you put it on your resume or in a portfolio, and the skills you learn will help you do the job itself. So, just as an example, AI research scientists make $109,000 to $163,000 a year, and I know this one doesn’t get you into a. But it will help if you already have other skills they’re looking for.

This one might also help you land a digital content strategist-type job, which pays around $62,000 to $104,000 a year. So yeah, this is a perfect one if you want to have more of an understanding of how AI works, which will help you even if you’re not going to be an AI programmer or something, you know, really complicated like that.

3- ChatGPT Prompt Engineering for Developers by Open AI and Deep Learning AI

The following AI certification will be the ChatGPT prompt engineering for developers by open AI and deep learning AI, which is hosted on deep learning AI. This one is exciting because one of the instructors is Andrew Ng, a machine learning/AI industry legend.

I have a perfect friend who is a machine learning engineer. This guy takes every course or certificate Andrew Ng puts out. He loves it. This teaches you prompt engineering, but it comes from a developer’s perspective, right? So, it’s the development of the AI’s ability to understand the prompts.

This course only takes about one hour to complete, so it is pretty straightforward and relatively basic. You don’t need to be super advanced to take it; it is a certification, so you get a certification after you finish it. This will teach you how to write code much faster using prompt engineering.

So, one career path you might go into after taking a course like this. Where this would look good on your resume or your portfolio would be an AI implementation specialist who makes about $55,000 to $86,000 a year.

By the way, if you enjoy this article and think of somebody else who might also enjoy it, go ahead and Share it with them, maybe a friend, a family member, or someone who needs to get a job and make some money.

4- IBM Applied AI Professional Certificate

The following AI certification will be the IBM Applied AI professional certificate. Now, this one is hosted on Coursera, and it is a relatively new course. At the end of it, you get a certificate that, again, will look very good on a resume or a portfolio, and they say it will take about three months if you’re doing it at about 10 hours per week.

However, most Coursera certificate programs take much less than the website says. I’ve noticed this over and over again. So, if they say it takes six months, it takes anywhere from two weeks to two months at most. So, I’m guessing this one says three months. So it will probably be one week to a month or so somewhere around there.

Now, it’s a seven-course series:

  1. Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  2. Generative AI: Introduction & Applications
  3. Generative AI: Prompt Engineering Basics
  4. Building AI-Powered Chatbots Without Programming
  5. Python for Data Science, AI & Development
  6. Developing AI Applications with Python & Flask
  7. Building AI Applications with Watson APIs

It is beginner-level and rated 4.6 out of five, which is excellent. This is geared towards mastering the practical applications of AI. So, use AI in your day-to-day experience for real-world scenarios outside of, you know, being a data scientist or a software developer.

This might help you figure out how to utilize AI better in different Industries. One career path you might take is to become an AI consultant. They make about $103,000 to $163,000 a year. You can see that a lot of these AI-related jobs make perfect money.

5- AWS Certified Machine Learning Certification

The following AI certification will be the AWS-certified machine learning certification. AWS or Amazon.com offers this. AWS is a part of Amazon and stands for Amazon Web Services. Now, this one is more advanced. It will dive into more complicated machine learning concepts, but it takes 180 minutes to complete the exam.

If you pass the exam, you get this certification, and it showcases your ability to design, Implement, and deploy machine learning solutions efficiently using AWS Services. AWS is one of the largest cloud platforms out there. Anything related to AWS, whether it’s just being able to do the basic stuff, whether you’re doing it for IT or coding on it, is super valuable.

This is for the more advanced people, specifically those who want to combine machine learning with AWS. It’s probably not for most people.

6- IBM Data Analyst Certificate

The following AI certification will be the IBM data analyst certificate. So, this will be more of a data analyst side of things. However, understanding that side of things will help tremendously when understanding AI and how it works. Because at the end of the day, AI takes in a bunch of data and outputs something that it thinks will be valuable to a human being.

So, understanding the data analysis side of things is very important. It says this one takes about four months with three hours of weekly study. Again, Coursera almost always overestimates how long it will take; this likely only takes, you know, maybe two weeks to a month. So, you might go down one career path.

If you went in this direction, you would see a business intelligence assistant who makes about $127,000 to $189,000 a year or a data visualization manager who makes about $93,000 to $141,000 a year. So, I will review several other data-related certificates, some of which are easier than others.

7- Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate

The following AI certification will be the Google Data Analytics professional certificate. I’ve also covered this one on the blog. It is phenomenal. This one is also hosted on Coursera, and they say it takes about six months, 10 hours per week. Most people report that finishing takes about one to two months.

It has eight modules inside of it that they call courses:

  1. Foundations: Data, Data, Everywhere
  2. Ask Questions to Make Data-Driven Decisions
  3. Prepare Data for Exploration
  4. Process Data from Dirty to Clean
  5. Analyze Data to Answer Questions
  6. Share Data Through the Art of Visualization
  7. Data Analysis with R Programming
  8. Google Analytics Capstone: Complete a Case Study

It’s rated 4.8 stars with over 128,000 ratings. It’s also beginner-level; you can earn degree credit when taking the course. So, this one will be more of a beginner-type thing when learning about data. Some others are a little more advanced, like the next one on the list.

I will discuss what is more advanced. Still, some career paths you might pursue are business intelligence analysts, who make about $86,000 to $124,000 a year, and analytics coordinators, who make about $61,000 to $95,000 yearly.

There are many phenomenal ratings online for this one. It is probably tied for my favourite Coursera certificate, and that’s saying a lot because Coursera has some phenomenal certificates. So, this one is great.

8- IBM Data Science Certificate

The following AI certification will be the IBM data science certificate hosted on Coursera. Data science is now much more complicated than data analytics, so this is not a beginner certificate. It is for someone who’s already gotten through the data analytics side of things and is probably already working.

They want to upskill and get themselves into higher-level positions. It says it takes about five months if you work about four hours a week. Again, they’re usually overestimated, but these higher-level ones are probably a little more accurate. Realistically, it will probably take around two months; it’s rated 4.6 out of 5 stars, which is excellent.

They say that it’s beginner-friendly, but realistically, it’s not. You would probably want to have some experience. At least take a bunch of other certifications or certificates before you take this one. They show that the median U.S. salary for data scientists is about $138,000, which is excellent.

It has about ten different modules:

  1. What is Data Science
  2. Tools for Data Science
  3. Data Science Methodology
  4. Python for Data Science, AI & Development
  5. Python Project for Data Science
  6. Data Base & SQL for Data Science with Python
  7. Data Analysis with Python
  8. Data Visualization with Python
  9. Machine Learning with Python
  10. Applied Data Science Capstone

So, another perfect one. One is a little bit above beginner level, in my opinion. However, you could take it as a beginner if you’re brilliant.

9- Machine Learning Specialization

The following AI certification will be the machine learning specialization. This one is also hosted on Coursera. This one is not for beginners; machine learning is just like Mega Brain; it’s big brain stuff. However, this is another course with Andrew Ng, so anything with Andrew Ng in it will be significant.

It has a 4.9-star rating with over 5,900 ratings, and 99% of people give it a thumbs up. It takes approximately 33 hours to finish the course, and it’s course number one out of three different machine learning courses. I mean, there are tons of super high-paying jobs you can get into with this. So, machine learning engineers make about $125,000 to $187,000 a year.

Machine learning research assistants earn $106,000 to $150,000 annually, and predictive analytics specialists earn $96,000 to $131,000 annually. As I mentioned, there are a lot of reviews of this online. This person, for instance, landed a job three months after taking the certificate, and yeah, it’s just really, really good stuff.

10- Deep Learning Specialization

The following AI certification will be the deep learning specialization. This one is also hosted on Coursera. Andrew Ng is a professor on the certificate, and they say it takes approximately five months to complete. If you study eight hours per week, it’s usually much faster. I’m guessing this will probably take more than two months or so.

This is rated 4.9 stars with 127,000 ratings, so it’s excellent stuff. There’s an online review of someone intelligent because they’re already data scientists, and they took about two weeks to finish the course. Now, this will probably not be the case for beginners again.

However, even as a beginner, you’d probably learn a lot. You have to do a lot of extra studying because you wouldn’t get many of the concepts, and there’s tons of positive feedback on this one online—it’s just a real one.

11- Generative AI with Large Language Models

The following AI certification will be the generative AI with large language models. This one is also hosted on Coursera. About 177,000 people have already taken it. This one, they say, takes approximately 16 hours to finish, and it focuses on large language models and explores techniques for generating creative and contextually relevant text, using advanced language models, providing practical skills and natural language processing and generation.

This is the language-generating side of AI, so it’s another perfect one. Again, I wouldn’t recommend this to a beginner. It isn’t straightforward, but maybe you could consider it a challenge. If you’re a beginner and take it anyway, prove me wrong.

12- Natural Language Processing with Deep Learning

The following AI certification will be natural language processing with deep learning, which Stanford.edu offers. So, it’s provided basically by an Ivy League University. The course number for this one is Cs224n, provided for free online. This focuses on NLP or natural language processing and uses deep learning strategies and techniques.

It focuses on applying neural networks to various NLP-related tasks and helps you gain insights into cutting-edge developments in language, understanding, and generation. So again, this one is significant to understand, like how AI works. At the same time, if you like working on AI, this will also help you.

For instance, conversational AI architects make about $105,000 to $169,000 a year, and NLP research scientists make $144,000 to $203,000 a year. This one has lots of positive reviews online, so it’s another really good one.

13- Project Management for Conversational AI

The following AI certification will be the project management for conversational AI offered by the Carnegie Academy, and I’m probably saying that is also wrong. I will get some comments in the comment section, which focuses on project management and conversational AI.

Participants will learn the intricacies of planning, executing, and overseeing projects related to chatbot voice assistance in conversational Interfaces, gaining expertise in efficiently managing conversational AI initiatives. This course takes about 90 minutes to complete.

This course is for project managers, product owners, and conversational AI professionals with prior experience in bot projects. It is said to be perfect for people challenged with building advanced bots at scale. This one has many jobs, one of which could help be a solution delivery manager. These managers make about $126,000 to $187,000 a year.

Guys, as you can see, anything AI-related is making crazy good money, whether you get a job, do it as a freelancer, or start a business with it. I mean, anything AI-related is just crushing it, and this is another one where I found a lot of good reviews online. So cognitive.ai has a 4.8-star rating, which is excellent, and it just had a lot of good ratings online. A lot of people seem to like it.
