- Embracing Growth: How the Top 10 Books That Will Help You Grow Can Transform Your Journey in 2024
Introduction
In this article, I’ll introduce you to the top 10 books that will help you grow in your life. I read them when I was 23 and 24. Right now, when I’m 34, they have helped me to grow mentally and financially, and in every aspect of my life. I can almost say that you will never regret reading them, especially if you are young.
1- The Millionaire Fastlane by MJ DeMarco
The first book I want to discuss is The Millionaire Fast Lane by MJ DeMarco. Like No Cap, this was the best book I’ve read about money, lifestyle, and business. This book is not science-based but will teach you how to create a good lifestyle, build wealth, and build a wealthy lifestyle through passive income-based businesses. Long story short, this book will help you build businesses that generate passive income so that you can retire soon and get free from a nine-to-five job.
2- Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki
The second book I don’t regret reading is Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki. Yeah, it is a blockbuster, and you’ve probably heard it many times. But before reading The Millionaire Fast Lane, maybe you’ll be better off reading that book because it will give you a different mindset about money. Like, what is money? How do you spend it, and how can you invest it? What are investments? What is depth? What are liabilities? And so on.
So, yeah, it is elementary financial literacy, and you can learn a lot from it. If you haven’t read it already, I was 23 and 24, and if you are older, don’t worry. But if you are at that age or even younger, don’t waste any time. Get the book and read it. It’s an excellent book. If you haven’t read it, go for it.
The second book I want to introduce is still about money because I classified my list like this: the first three books are about money, and the rest are about lifestyle mindset.
3- How An Economy Grows And Why It Crashes by Peter D. Schiff
The third book is How An Economy Grows And Why It Crashes. It’s by Peter D. Schiff and his brother and is an excellent economic book. If you don’t know about the economy, inflation, interest rates, again investments, and so on, how an economy grows, it’s the same thing that the title says: how an economy grows and white crashes. It’s a fascinating book because it’s animated and has many cartoons so you can understand the story well.
It’s because it’s storytelling, and I say you engage with it quickly, and I read it. I enjoyed reading it. I suggest you to read it. Suppose you want to learn more about the economy, money, and, like again, depth and investment and all those related to basic financial literacy. So now we have run out of economic books, and I will dive into mindset and lifestyle books.
4- The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy
The fourth book I want to introduce is The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. It is the first non-school book that I’ve ever read. No, I was 15. I think I was 15 or 16 when I read this, and it was the first book I’ve ever read outside of school, and this changed my life. Although maybe some people say that it’s a yellow book, it’s yellow content. I don’t know about that, but it changed my life then. It helps you if you haven’t read it.
If you are young and don’t know what you’re doing with your life, it will give you a great insight into what your habits are doing to your life. It’s all about the compound effect of our acts. It’s all about that. I’ll suggest reading it if you haven’t already, and if you are young, maybe 16, under 16, I don’t know, perhaps even 30, who cares? If you are 30 and want to grow, nobody will stop you instead of yourself.
So, yeah, this was a fantastic book for me at the time. I also sometimes go back and revise it to see how I grew. You know, it’s exciting to monitor the journey.
5- Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport
The next book is all about how to use technology. It’s about your lifestyle, which is Digital Minimalism by Cal Newport. A digital detox, staying away from optional technologies, staying away from social media, etc. You detox your mind, and so on. It’s a fantastic book. Suppose you want to stop overusing these technologies like smartphones, social media, etc. So yeah, this is a tremendous book, especially for changing your lifestyle and mindset, two words like digital technologies.
6- Mindset by Carol Devic
The next book I want to discuss is Mindset by Carol S. Dweck. It will never get old. It’s a fantastic book because almost every part of the book is based on some research that the author herself conducted. The main thing about this book is that Professor Carol Devic compares two mindsets: the growth and the fixed mindsets. It’s all about growing. It’s all about how not to be limited by all of your mental boundaries. So yeah, go and get it. Many prominent people recommend this book. So yeah, I read it and learned a lot from it.
7- Indistractable by Nir Eyal
Let’s move on for now. The next book is also related to Digital Minimalism, which is Indistractable by Nir Eyal. It’s all about lifestyle and how to use technology in your life. Long story short, it is about not getting distracted by all the digital platforms and devices around us. InDestractable by Nir Eyal is all about how to stop being distracted constantly.
8- Essentialism by Greg Mckeown
The next book I want to introduce is Essentialism by Greg Mckeown. Essentialism is all about that. What do we need to say no to them, and how do we say no to them? It’s all about seeking essential things, essential tasks, essential jobs, and essential activities and ignoring all of the other stuff or saying no to them. I read it, and it changed my mindset. I said no, and it saved time. That process saved me a lot of time and energy to consume it for myself and my work. Yeah, that was all about essentialism.
9- The Dip by Seth Godin
Let’s move on to the next book, The Dip, by Seth Godin. The book is tiny; Seth Godin does not count it as a book. So I don’t care what you think of it. Just read it, and you’ll see what’s in it. The book is all about the art of knowing. When to quit, it’s essential. You see, it’s imperative to know when to quit. Maybe you go and start away, and you begin a path, you go, you spend time and energy, you spend money on it, and after a while, you see that it doesn’t work.
No, the knowledge or the sense that tells you don’t do this, like quit right now. Or maybe not, or maybe keep going. Keep pushing the understanding of that is very subtle. You have to learn it by experience and reading; this book will help you understand it faster. The art of knowing when to quit is significant because we can save a lot of opportunity costs, a lot of money, and a lot of time if we know when to stop.
10- Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins
Finally, we came to the last book, which I think you probably know, or at least know its author. This is Can’t Hurt Me by David Goggins, and yeah, it’s just another blockbuster if you have read it. It’s good for you, but if you haven’t, go and read it. If you like motivation, if you want encouragement, if you’re going to build a strong mindset, if you want to get more challenging in life, exercise, or grow, this book is fantastic. This book is impressive. The author is remarkable and a tremendous person.
He is demanding and encouraging, and I know all the good things I learned from that guy, David Goggins. I get motivated whenever I see something from him on the internet. One of the recent pieces of content he was in was a podcast with Andrew Huberman, and the Huberman lab podcast was one of the best pieces of content on the internet that I’ve ever used, consumed, listened to, or watched.
That guy is fantastic, incredible, and unbelievable at the same time. Please go and read his book. This guy also has another book named Never Finished. I haven’t done it yet, but it’s in my plan, and I’ll let you know about it.
